Mem Saheb

Tracked the Mem Saheb down whilst staying at Canary Wharf as it had better reviews than the majority of the restaurants along West India Quay. Had some fun getting there, set off on foot and then opted for Taxi but Amsterdam road proved elusive and we had a tour of the Isle of Dogs. To be fair to the taxi driver he did stop the meter and finally dropped us off at our destination which was a nice location overlooking the Thames. Restaurant was very busy and our table was not ready but we were offered drinks and were seated at the bar whilst we waited. Once seating we ordered and tucked into poppadoms whislt waiting for starters at this point we were asked if we wanted to move by the window with the views of the Thames an offer we appreciated and accepted. The meal went very well, we mainly stuck to traditional dishes but my wife opted for the Crab Puri starter and this was excellent. Overall a very good meal with courteous service, the night was wrapped up with a couple of complementary drinks and then a short taxi journey back to the wharf.

The best-kept secret in the Docklands. Our favourite Indian, if not overall favourite restaurant in the area! I have to say, when we first discovered it, it was a pleasant surprise - it doesn't look like that much from the outside, and the location is a bit off the beaten track, but my is it worth it.
The service is charming, the food is delicious though - I can't eat food that has too much heat, but they don't just pile on the heat at this Indian - it is spiced properly. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!

I went to Mem saheb last night for a leaving do (about 12 of us)and found that it was a very nice restaurant though i found that that the service was quite slow part from that food was good. They also made food that was not on the menu for one of our group, would go their again.

New to the Isle of Dogs, I went here last night with my two flatmates based on great reviews I had read (I can't find many for any other restaurants on the island) and I have to say it completely lived up to expectations. The food was utterly delicious, the service was charming and we'll definitely be going back. It's true the views on the way there, and outside, are interestingly urban to say the least but it's incredibly smart, modern and elegant inside and the great food and good value make it more than worth it. I can wholly recommend!

Quite simply THE BEST indian restaurant in the area. I have lived in Docklands for 30 years and this is the best by far. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and happy. The food is very good. As well as all the usual indian dishes they have their own menu and a "kitchen curry" special that changes daily. The restaurant has recently been refurbished and it is smart and elegant but not over the top. The prices are very reasonable too. Don't get a takeaway from here - go visit!!
