Mosaica was recommended to me by a friend who visited the restaurant on a weeknight, My partner and I booked for a saturday evening and were blown away by the decor and the ambience. The food was great- I can recommendn the pork belly which is like I've never experienced before. The service was good- friendly and laid-back, but attentive. Well worth a visit!

Now that this is Mr Mountain's main focus, I was hoping it would live up to the previous meals I have had not only here but also at the Pumphouse. Unfortunately when we ate here (table for 2 8.30pm on a quiet Friday night), he wasn't at the helm, and as such it was a very poor evening. The waiting staff were all over the shop, we had to wait 10 minutes to get a glass for our water, both our starters went back as they were cold. The mains were OK, but the dessert, a strawberry cheesecake, was a whole digestive biscuit as the base, with an unset mousse on top. The chef had not even been bothered to make a proper biscuit base. I couldn't beleive it. This will not stop us going here in the future as we have usually had a great night, but I couldn't believe how a place could go from the sublime to the ridiculous just because the owner isn't there

As a Mosaica first timer, I wanted to leave a review of my evening in this most splendid of North London restaurants. Who cares if it a little out the way - all the better for it. My initial reaction to the restaurant was one of delight. A great open space, high ceilinged, space between the tables, just perfect! On shaking hands with the maitre D he sadly informed me that in one and a half years of working there I was the first customer to meet him with a handshake - shame on you people!

The chairs are beautifully comfortable, what a delight to take a seat in a restaurant and feel the relaxation of the evening ahead. A bloody mary ordered and delivered was perfect. I loved the wine list, great value and in no way run of the mill. The Cote du Rhone 2005 - quite splendid. All the waiting staff who attended to us at various times during the evening were delightful, eloquent and charming.

The food was exquisite, of course the pork belly which I found out later was a house favourite was to die for. The risotto extremely fine, the fois gras excellent. It is a while since I enjoyed a cheesecake quite so much as well. I recommend a glass of the muscat with the dessert; perfect. The restaurant is beautifully lit and the music is a perfect blend, played at the perfect volume. Johnnie Mountain is the ideal host: witty, interesting and challenging, in no way ingratiating just honest and fun. I recommend this place to you as highly as is possible. Seek it out (it's not that hard to find honestly) you will not regret it for a moment. As the old adage says: "Build it and they will come" well Johnnie Mountain has built it, lit it, decorated it, cooks in it and presides over it and if there is any justice in the world they will come in their droves. Get there, and get there soon.

The food is nice, but there isn't enough of it. Portions here used to be large, and you didn't mind paying over £10 for fish and chips. Now it just feels a bit stingy.

If ever there was to be an individual restaurant that defines what fun and food are about this is it!!! Any honest food-lover with an open-mind to new food and a love for the classics needs to make their way round wood green shopping centre and sit outside in the summer night and get Johnnie to sort you out with some scallops followed by pork belly and a glass of fizz. A proven gem.

My partner and myself are regulars at this restaurant having lived in the area for the past couple of years. I have to say that this is one of my favourite restaurants in London and I feel really lucky to live round the corner from such a gem of a place.

The restaurant itself is in a tucked away location and has a lovely welcoming atmosphere and everytime we've been the service has been great - friendly and natural without being overbearing.

The food is really fantastic - a great menu that changes regularly to include seasonal produce but still has some all time favourites on there such as the pork belly!

Just wanted to say great work to everyone at Mosaica and I can't wait for my next visit!

Our last visit to this restaurant was a couple of years ago when standards had apparently dipped, but we were very delighted this time around. The interior benefited from a makeover, a new chef and the return of the owner, Johnnie Mountain. The restaurant is in an offbeat location in a semi-industrial area which only adds to the thrill when you enter the restaurant itself.

The overall feel of the restaurant was superb and accommodated groups, couples and lone diners. All seemed to be made equally welcome.

We found there was enough menu choice to make a return visit inevitable and the service was swift, prompt and friendly without being intrusive.

Well worh a visit and we highly recommend it.

I recently booked a meal here for my brother's birthday and it was simply awesome. Good service, nice atmosphere and more importantly wonderful food!

I would heartily recommend this place to anyone. It really is a little hidden gem, tucked away in a location you wouldn't expect!
