We must have got them on a bad night ... Food: Flashes of genuinely good food but not a single plate was 100% spot on. Presentation very good generally except Foie Gras (see below); Starters - Duck Salad was chewy, Foie Gras was missing completely (a joke?); Mains - Lamb was served blue (medium requested - am i wrong to expect lamb to be pink?) and so was the Ostrich (more forgiveable as rare requested) but was so underdone it was a struggle without a steak knife; Desert - black figs were unspired and a good cheese plate should have at least something blue on it. Service: The staff were a little stiff but did respond promptly and without fuss when the lamb went back. Atmosphere: Entertaining - especially when the chef started f-ing and blinding at 130 decibels. Thankfully, someone slammed a door closed and this muffled the chef's monologue. Overall: I did expect more from the good reviews and even though we had a bad night I think I would try them again. Still, there are so many places to eat and so few dinner times...

A group of friends and I had dinner in the private dining room recently on a Saturday evening. Michael greeted us on our way in, which I thought was a great touch.
Dinner was outstanding. Beautifully presented, interesting combinations of textures and tastes and food generally of the highest quality.
Throughout the evening, service was excellent. The only thing perhaps worth noting was that storage of coats seemed to be accessed through the private room, so periodically the staff would come through bearing jackets etc. This was a relatively minor point though. The room itself is most pleasant and the service was so good that we barely noticed the staff coming and going.
Michael came through to chat with us after we had finished dinner and was completely charming and convivial. All in all, an exceptional evening.

I fear that good presentation, a nice atmosphere and excellent staff are wooing people away from the fact that the food is average.
the flavours don't quite balance properly - the same sticky sweet sauce on both the duck starter and beef main - unfortunately i had both and was left with a sense that all i'd eaten was plum sauce all night. The food didn't quite live up to the promising descriptions and excellent presentation.
It's expensive, but if it tased better it would be worth it because everything else about the place is good.
For my money, i'd rather pay £10 a head more and have infinitely superior food at Maze... but looking at the other reviews maybe i was there on an off day.

We went to Michael Moore's last Saturday on the recommendation of this website. We were not dissapointed. Unfortunately there was a private function booked downstairs (A Stag Do). Our order was taken in good time and our starters and mains came promptly and were very nice, bursting with flavour. My only criticism was that there was a little too much gelatin in the Crayfish Timbale which made it a little too firm but other than that our starters and mains were delicious. Wine was available by the glass which was good and house wines are available if you want to keep the cost down. Mains do not come with extra vegetables etc but side dishes are available if you require. Our sweet order was delayed due to the above function and the maître d' was under a lot of pressure to keep everything going. I think they were short staffed that evening. We were made to feel welcome and were attended to. Two glasses of dessert wine were provided as a gesture for waiting for our sweet which was kind. We were never neglected and we would definately go again if we are up in London again. The mean was about £60/head including wine and water etc. The fusion style was different but certainly very nice.

As one may know we New Yorkers can be a demanding bunch ... I've eaten a lot of great food all over the world, which is why I was intrigued by Michael Moore's international cuisine in the Marylebone area of London. I was pleased to find some familiar dishes on the menu but surprised at the creative twists that were presented. I was afforded a rare opportunity to satisfy my taste for heat with the explosive spicy wontons, while my partner revelled in her fois gras starter. For mains we enjoyed a delectable combination of bison fillet for me and john dory for her. Scrumptious ... and where else in Europe can you find that?! We were further surprised at the range of tempting desserts and the apple crumble and classic creme brulee were a big hit. Michael joined us for coffee, and we were so impressed with the man and his food. It's not often that one finds a name brand chef so accessible; he is obviously at ease both in his kitchen and dining room. The restaurant combines a friendly yet simple elegance and a great value for money, unusual in most Capitals especially in London. Highly recommended!

My partner and I booked the pre-theatre early dining offer last week. The food was divine, especially given the price for the three courses was under 20 pounds. Every course was delicious and service was exemplary. Very friendly. We are not usually very loyal to a place, as we are forever trying to find good offers in different restaurants, but living in the area, we will definitely revisit very soon.

I dined on Wednesday lunchtime with a colleague and two clients. We had a lovely meal and although we were on a time deadline to get back to work (sadly!) the service was efficient and friendly with just the correct level of attentiveness.
The menu was excellent with a good variety of influences and inspiration. As ever beautifully presented and executed. Although this is "fine dining" there is not hint of pretension and the atmosphere is quite buzzy even on a weekday lunch time.
Michael Moore is accessible for all and I hope to be returning very soon to this oasis of culinary excellence !

Having lived in Brussels and Paris for many years, I like to think my taste in the quality of food and restaurants is of fairly high standard. Michael Moore manages to combine all of the required ingredients to match such standards.
From the intimate dining room to the excellent friendly service and fabulous menu (which changes frequently so that regulars experience new dishes and culinary delights) - the whole journey from cocktail to coffee is a delight. It's also a pleasure to actually see the energetic and enthusiastic Chef walk around and greet his diners - a somewhat rare experience these days.
I would not hesitate to recommend this exceptional restaurant to anyone wishing to enjoy a great evening out in the lovely Marylebone area.

I dine out in London a lot for business and pleasure. I must say how impressed I have been with the quality of the food and the imagination of the menu selection. I have of course seen Michael Moore on many TV Food Programmes but it is a different experience to taste his food first hand and to experience the friendly ambience his larger than life personality creates.
The menu will cater for all tastes in your party and the presentation and content far exceeded my expectations. The wine list is thoughtful and compliments the food styles.
I enjoyed my visit to this restaurant, and know that my guests would thoroughly enjoy the experience, and for cosy personal nights it would be perfect.
I will be going back - soon!
