I have to say, I was appalled at the service here. I didn't even get as far as the restaurant. My husband and I have never been so rudely treated at a place of hospitality before! We came here to enquire about hiring out a room for special occasion dining and had made an appointment.

When we approached the reception desk, we were unceremoniously put aside and vaguely pointed in the direction of some sofas to wait while the staff saw to some business matters with someone with a laptop.

We had waited for over 20 minutes, while the three, poorly presented, reception staff joked about with the laptop lady. My husband and I were about to walk out when a very inexperienced-sounding lady, approached us.

We were then given a very disappointing tour of the restaurant and private rooms. The decor is very reminiscent of 80's casino film sets and the restaurant was reasonably presented although not what you would expect from their brochures and location.

Unfortunately, the Sunborn Yacht is someone's great idea and could do very well for business, but it is tired looking, staffed by unprofessional poorly trained people, with a poor command of English (even though they are not foreign) and our visit simply served to cross it off our list of venues to consider.

What a disappointment!

As the previous review i must agree that this is definetly a "no go" place , amateur and slow service . Lack of basic english language , took me ages to explain to the waitress , apparently from romenia , that i wanted a bottled of sweet desert wine to which the replied by bringing back a bottle of cabernet sauvignon . after all an efty bill was on the way with a excrupoluos 13,5 surcharge for a terrible service . Make your own mind !

Please stay away from this at all costs. Unbelievably overpriced with amateurish service. We went here because we could not get into Rhodes 24 after being number 1 on the waiting list. We went because it was close to where we live and we could get in at short notice. Now I know why. There was no atmosphere, no music played and with only 10 people in on a Friday night, you could hear every noise the place had to offer. In fact, we got running comentary from the Chef as he tried to chat up the waitresses. The food quality, I have to say was really quite nice but it is backed up by the most awful package. The supervisor on duty looked as though it was his first night, he had no clue, we had to ask for water, the wine took until the main course to arrive. They were quite friendly but altogether lacked direction & very poor. Then, when we got the bill, VAT was added with no indication on the menu anywhere and a 13.5% service charge added, which I promtly asked to be removed. The total bill for the two of us including one bottle of Chablis was approaching £130. I had a meal a month later in Ramseys Royal Hospital road which was double this and that felt like value for money. Enter at your peril!
