This is a great little Thai restaurant in an old building with wooden beams and leather-backed chairs - not your usual Asian-themed dining room. Good atmosphere and the staff are lovely.
The menu has all the familiar favourites (pad Thai, tom yum, red and green curries etc), but there are some interesting dishes like mussels with lemongrass and galangal which have a really good aromatic flavour. The papaya salad is great, so light and exotic. I've never been to Thailand so can't compare it to authentic Thai food but Baan Tha is certainly better than a lot of places we've tried.
Wine is just ok, so we usually stick to soft drinks. Highly recommended, especially with the special offer! Great value!!
