Pizzeria Pappagone

I wanted to add my voice to the chorus of approval for Pizza Paps - I have been going there for years now and go back because of the quality of the food, wine and service. The menu changes regularly and they always have specials - these are generally seasonal and so well worth trying. I love to go there with my fiance, we stuff ourselves and people watch - all life is here - families, couples young and old and pretty much everyone has a smile on their face. Its as comfortable to go as a couple as it is to take a bunch of friends - there is something for everyone to love. And, as someone else commented, the ice cream is divine. They even do an (ever changing) diabetic flavour made with rice milk! The managers are fantastic - they have even offered us firewood from their pizza oven stash when we ran out one cold night!! Many thanks to them all!!

Pizzeria Pappagone served me the best pizza I've eaten since moving to London!!! I went with my boyfriend and we started with the Bruschetta which was amazing! Usually you only get a couple little toasted pieces of bread with some tomato and basil, but at Pizzeria Pappagone, we were presented with 4 pieces, cascading with a divine mixture of tomato, basil, garlic, olives, and even fresh mozzarella cheese. For dinner we shared an order of the Rigatoni alla Puttanesca (tomato sauce with anchovies, capers, olives, oregano, garlic, and chilli) and a Pizza Quatro Stagioni (Tomato, mozzarella, ham, salami, mushroom, and pitted black olives). While I thought the pasta was good enough for the price we paid, the pizza was unbelievable! They have a wood burning brick oven and the pizza had a perfect thin crust that was still a bit doughy on the inside at the edges. The toppings were a fantastic flavour combination and they did not skimp on the ham and salami. The atmosphere in this place made for a good night as well - waiters shouting across the room to each other in Italian, choruses of "Happy Birthday" erupting from various corners. Overall, a wonderful dining experience! :)

Thanks to everyone at PG's last night, we had a wonderful time. Food was great service was excellent and the atmos was spot on. I can def recommend this place for all occasions.

ay ay ay leave my local pizzeria alone, it is by far the best place in town and is completely child friendly. i was going to write in to say thanks to all at pappagone for looking after my family for my dads birthday when i read the last review and was astonished. if you were asked to leave there must have been a reason.i have been going there for years and have never had any complaints made about my kids. dont change a thing pappagone your the best.

Full marks to the manager at Papps, i was there at the restaurant when this table was asked to leave and have been checking L Eating every day just in case they had the cheek to complain. I know the managers of this pizzeria and they are always perfect with my children. I saw them go to the parents of these children (who incidentally were quite happily ignoring the children climbing over the tables and screaming) on numerous occasions asking them to control their kids and i saw lots of customers asking to change tables because of the noise and behavior of their children. So well done to Papps its right that everyone should enjoy their evening and not at the expense of others. I shall quite happily continue to recommend Papps to everybody as it is the best place to stuffa your face in north London.

We held my daughters 9th birthday party there after bowling down at Rowens, but 14 eight and nine year olds was too much for the manager who refused to serve us any more after our main course and asked us to leave. The girls were boisterous but not badly behaved and were being adequately controlled. We were away from other customers and near some other noisy children but they were in a small group. It was such a contrast to 12 months earlier when it was the staff who were trying to get the kids to be noisier, and suggested we went to the nearby Tesco to get our birthday cake for them to put candles in, pointing out it would be cheaper for us. I will never return and neither will anyone I tell, and I advise you not to as well. Whatever happened to that lovely Italian spirit and inclusion for children. Why not go Pizza Porchetta up the road instead?

my neighbors suggested it to me. We went there and I am being an Italian myself always sure that something is wrong with Italian food in London.

Well the pizza is very good, I have been there twice now. The atmosphere is very Italian pizzeria, loud, noisy (too much with kids screaming) busy. I haven't tried anything else but pizza and so far so good.

The ice cream is to die for! In 9 years I had ice cream like it just when I was in Italy, I would go there just to try that! Pappagone I am taking many colleagues up there soon. We are hungry for more.

I was very pleased with my visit to this restaurant for the first time last night. I looked online and after deciding on Pizza, my boyfriend and I travelled from Essex to visit either this or La Porchetta. After looking at both menus we decided on Pappagone and it was a well made choice.

The service was excellent - right from when we walked in and a lovely gentleman greeted us at the door and shook both our hands - very polite. All of the waiters were most polite and attentive. The food was amazing. We both had starters (tomato & mozzarella salad, Calamari) for mains, my boyfriend had lasagne (he said it was the best he'd ever had at a restaurant) and I had Pizza Quatro Stagioni. Very tasty and so big I had to take some home! The food was evidently prepared with care and considering it was a Monday night - the restaurant was packed! I can't imagine how busy it must be at the weekend! I love the layout and seeing the chefs prepare the food. I have no fault with the restaurant and will definately be coming back to visit as I saw someone eating crab and that is my favourite!

The bad news is that when i went to papps the day Italy were knocked out of the football, the good news is i was looked after as is if Italy had won. Tremendous, even though it was a sad night for all the staff they were all still serving with a smile on there face and doing their best to look after their customers. Thanks for a terrific night and good luck for the world cup.

I have been to Pappagone since it opened it is by far the best atmosphere Italian eatery in UK by far! It is like walking into a local restaurant in an Italian town.

And the food is superb!!! The owners know exactly what the punters want :)
