Hare and Tortoise (Ealing)

I moved to Ealing six months ago and after trying a few of the local noodle/sushi bars I found the Hare and Tortoise.. This place is great..excellent fresh food that is served quickly at a great price. The Unagi sushi (Nigiri and Maki) is better than you get in Nobu and their curry laksa is sublime..so good in fact that when my friends come and visit , it is the first (and only) thing they want to eat.. Draught Kirin and a great saki range is the icing on the cake!

The interior is pretty simple (think a bit Wagamanas) but the food is fantastic - and dirt cheap!!
4 of us had a selection of starters and sushi, we all had mains and 3 people had puddings, plus wine, beer and tea and it came to £75 including service. Couldn't fault this restaurant at all and will become a new regular haunt.

I eat here all the time. Typical japanese noodle'n'katsu sort of stuff, surprisingly nice sushi. Incredibly good value and fast service. On the downside, they really cram you in and it can get very noisy in there.

We've been living in Ealing area for a while and this is the first time we dine in hare and tortoise restaurant. The food was superb and way beyond our expectations. They provide a generous portion at a very reasonable price. We got to our table and decided to order a whole lot of things and share. All being sushi lovers we ordered loads of everything. We ate to our hearts content and i have to say that each dish of sushi that was served was amazing and keeping the taste fresh especially the mixture sashimi is really gorgeous. The service from our waitress was perfect speaking very well english and she arranged everything for us and made it simple. The sitting area is also very unusual and gives the place a friendly atmosphere.Nice restaurant with very pleasant and friendly staff.Definetely we will be back!!

I've been here a few times and it's my favourite restaurant. Similar to Wagamamas this isn't the most romantic set up, with a canteen feel, but it's great food & good value. The food is so fresh you just know you're feeding your body with wholesome goodness! There's a good range of sushi, noodles, rice & noodle soup - the portions are good (and I eat a lot!) so you'll go away feeling satisfied I guarantee it!
