The White Swan Pub & Dining Room

I used to work down the road from this little city gem and regularly passed through its doors as it was consistently excellent in every respect. The staff are polite and attentive, the menu offers lots of traditional choices and all the food is of a very high quality and nicely presented! The burgers are particularly delicious! I would highly recommend a visit!

We held our Chrismas meal at the White Swan and had a wonderful evening that was fully attributed to the team. The highlights being the slick service, the quality of food, the attention to detail (name cards, christmas crackers, after dinner offer of spirit) and being given free reign to stay late……

I will definitely use The White Swan or any of the other ETM Group venues in the future and would thoroughly recommend it for both professional and personal parties.

Had an EXCELLENT meal here last night. A good selection on the menu - something for all tastes - and a comprehensive wine list made for a promising start. The service was very attentive, prompt and discrete and the food made a timely appearance from the kitchen. And what food it was! pan fried scallops, firm on the outside, quivering on the inside, followed by a succulent leg of chicken with what I can only describe as a sublime whipped sauce - brilliantly balancing the flavours of the chicken. Desserts, whilst hugely tempting and only just resisted, looked fantastic, with a very contemporary cheese board selection also on offer.

Most of these reviews seem to be commenting on hire of the venue for private functions, well let me suggest that you don't need to get married as an excuse to come here for dinner, nor even have a birthday! The Dining Room is an excellent venue for a dinner for two or four - romantic if need be, certainly comfortable, un-hurried (there doesn't seem to be a turn-around policy here) and plenty of room.

For anyone getting married in London, we can not recommend the White Swan highly enough. If quality of food and service is important to you, then you must contact the events team. We were married on 11 Oct 08, and our reception was held at the White Swan. They made it incredibly easy for us, and fun. We were happy to let them manage the details and the staff on the day could not have done more. Our friends and family were blown away by the venue, and the meal especially. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and the rooms looked beautiful. If you want an original and intimate venue and high quality service, then you won't be disappointed.

I had a heavenly meal in the upstairs dining room here. The food really was brilliant, with perfect service. I look forward to my next visit, what a treat! Highly recommended.

I've been to this place for lunch several times and I like it a lot. The food is straightforward but always good. What is lacked in variety and flair is made up for in quality and deftness. The waiting staff always do well and willing to make sensible suggestions from the wine list. It's a lovely, light, first floor dining room with windows on three sides - ideal for lunch. I do think it could do with a few quid spent on recarpeting and repainting, but that's just being picky.

I recently hired the White Swan for a birthday party and must compliment all of the staff and management team on the service levels provided. The venue was perfect and worked very well for the size of group (about 80 people, albeit most were outside much of the night due to it being so unusually clement!). The bar staff were courteous, efficient, friendly and, above all, made us feel very welcome the whole night through: in fact, many of my guests commented on how pleasant and rare it was to find bar staff like that nowadays in a London pub! The food was hot, quick to arrive and delicious to boot – so compliments due there too. I can quite safely say that I would reconsider using the White Swan for future events and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others; also, that many of my friends will now be considering the same too.

My only regret is that the evening had to finish and that we all had to pack-up and go home!

We held a corporate dinner at The White Swan on the 2/07/08 and I would just like to say that the service and the food was excellent. There were people from all around the world attending the dinners and the staff and chef were very helpful in ensuring that all dietary requirement were met. I would like to say a big thank you to Nadia and all the staff for making our evening a success!!!

I hired the downstairs for a party last Saturday night and had the same experience. Very friendly staff and a great venue for a party. Drinks at reasonable prices and the way we were served was also very good. I thoroughly recommend it.

We hired this venue last weekend for a private party of about 90 people.

Nadia and her team were absolutely superb, really helpful and attentive. The bar has great atmosphere, a good drinks selection and is a good size for a party of that size, we just took the downstairs.

We had canapes for our guests which were very tasty. Lots of good comments on the venue and staff from our guests too.

Would definitely recommend The White Swan if anyone was thinking of a central venue for a party.
